Hi Die Hard Java fans,
Here is something for you.
WARNING: NOT for those with a weak heart, may cause a heart-attack!!!
The post:
Sources very close to Sun have reported that the company is pulling support for Java after the JDK 1.4 release. They have been working for the past two years on a replacement for Java (to compete with the more efficient C# from Microsoft). Sources say that the current development name is C* (or "C Star"). It includes true pointer notation and can either be interpreted or compiled. Many developers inside Sun have reported that the new language is a mix of C++, Cobol, ADA and RPG. It is due to be announced along with Java's demise sometime in the third quarter. As far as Java's future, there are rumors that Sun may turn Java into something like "GNU Java" for the open market.
I read this here: http://www.javalobby.org/discussion/showThreaded/frm/javalobby?folderId=20&discussionId=10498
So guys, what do you think. If this IS TRUE, then maybe after 2 years, boolean Java.isHot() will result in... FALSE? or boolean Java.exists() will result in False?
Or maybe after 2 years, if someone with a SCJP goes to an employer, will the employer shout "show me where is Java. Show Me Where Is Java. SHow ME WHere IS JAva. SHOW ME WHERE IS JAVA. SHOW ME WHERE IS JAVA. SHOW ME WHERE IS JAVA. SHOW ME WHERE IS JAVA. SHOW ME WHERE IS JAVA...
And what should the guy say to the employer... yes you guessed it "Show me the money, and I shall show you my C# certificate!!! SHOW ME THE MONEY. SHOW ME THE MONEY. SHOW ME THE MONEY. SHOW ME THE MONEY. SHOW ME THE MONEY. SHOW ME THE MONEY. SHOW ME THE MONEY. SHOW ME THE MONEY..."

Yours truly
Jerry Maguire.

Hmmmm.... now there's a good idea. I mean no one uses Java, no one uses j2se,j2ee,or j2me (I'm being sarcastic here). Come on! I mean , how can you believe that stuff? If Java wasn't that popular, I might buy into one of those tips of the future emails, but look around Java is everywhere.

I'm closing this; it's a duplicate thread that's popped up in other forums. If you want to discuss it check the post in 'Meaningless Drivel'
