just take a few mock exams and see how u perform
that should answer ur question of whether u r ready to take the test
if u have covered java in mca then the mock exams should give u an idea
otherwise definitely give urself atleast 6 months 3-4 hrs daily time

Hello Sona
This is Rajesh from Chennai, India. I just saw your reply in Java Ranch regarding eligibility of scjp exam.
Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
Actually i know java and i covered some mock exams and i was comfortable on that. But still i have a doubt weather i need a real time experience in Java to face the exam.
If you have any sugestion on that please reply to me.
Thank you again for your reply.
Regards
Rajesh

Hi Rajesh,
Don't like to contradict raj; however, just 'doing the mocks' is not enough. You can pass without Java work experience but you do need to have experience writing and compiling Java code. You must be familiar with how the compiler handles things; theory alone is not enough.
Hope that helps.
