WAITING TO RUNNING-EXAMCRAM

The diagram seems to give an impression that thread from sleeping , waiting can enter directly the running state.
I wondered whether is it possible for a waiting, or sleeping thread to start running , without getting ready first.

That diagram 9.1 is an over-simplification - it would have been better to draw the arrow from blocked to the more general "runnable" box instead of to the "running" state.
