After reading about 50 postings from people taking and passing the programmer's exam, it seems that the favorite book of choice is "A Programmer's Guide to Certification" by by Khalid Azim Mughal and Rolf Rasmussen.
Question: This book at Amazon.com has a August 1999 date. I thought I saw where Sun has recently (10/2000) changed some information on the exam. Is this book dated in 1999 still useful or is there a newer version?

Hi Scott,
No doubt that Khalid Mughal's book for SCJP preparation is of great worth.Hundreds of SCJP's are highly recomending this book in order to pass or even for high scoring in SCJP.
Well, what i have observe is that, SUN is making changes SCJP 2 exam. But i think they are just incresaing the no's of question of topics which were not coming before more than 2 or 3.
I don't think , that Khalid Mughal book will of no help for SCJP 2 even after changes made by SUN.Because the "basic's of Java is important", which SUN can't change and all these are well explained by KM.
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
