Hello,
I have small problem.
We have developed a Java/Swin application.
This application collects and stores data on local machine.
When required this application can post data using HTTP to a password protected URL.
(i.e) When invoked fromthe browser this URL asks for a user/password.
To make this authetication configurable from my application I have used the my Autheticator that derives from
java.net.Authenticator Class
At run time it reads the user/password from a properties file and installs threquired authetictation.
After this I open a URL connection and post the data.
This works great when I post the data from the application when I run the application from the DOS Prompt.
But Once the application is downloaded and run Through Webstart , the runtime doesnot take into consideration My autheticator.
It doesnot come into the overridden function
getPasswordAuthentication().
Webstart pops-up its own dialog box and asks for user/password.
Our requirement is that no such dialog box should be shown.
I have also tried the fllowing in vain
1.The security setting in JNLP says all-permissions
2.System.setSecurityManager(null)
I hope you got the problem
I uregenrly need help on this.
