corrupted jar file exception.

Hi, Our application uses Webstart to launch applet. Application throwing "Corrupted jar xxx.jar file and unable to launch application" exception when we use 'HTTPS' protocol and resources are secured (URL restricted - form based authentication (cookies)).

It is working with 'HTTP' and resources are secured (URL restricted - form based authentication (cookies)).

It is also working with 'HTTPS' when no URL authentication( form based).

*All jar files including applet one are signed.

Environment : WAS4.x (Linux),JRE1.3.1, Jre/Webstart 1.4.2 on the client side (browser/user machine).

- Has anyone seen this problem before ?
- I appreciate any help on this.

Hi,

Althought jws can handle https is has no clue about the authentication cookie the browser is holding. So, you must do a "hole" an mark the jars as unprotected. Otherwise when jws tries to download the jars it will receive the login page back tries to interpret that as a jar, obviously fails - "Corrupted jar error.".

BR,
Cristian

Thanks for the reply.

My jars are protected(either case HTTP or HTTPS) site needs authentication. I was wondering, Why it is working when I use HTTP, still jars requires authentication. User always login first when they hit the site, then they click on 'Launch button' to launch the jnlp file/jar downloads. Any thoughts ???

Thanks in advance
