Im having troubling installing my we start application. I can run it fine from the webstart launcher window - but when I run it, it never asks me to install it, or add shortcuts. When I look at it in the Web Start launcher, it says its downloaded, but why isnt it installed properly ??

Here is the JNLP
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<jnlp

codebase="http://isis131:8080/webstart/"
<href="ControlCenter.jnlp">
<information>
<title>Control Center</title>
<vendor>Isis Information Systems</vendor>
<description>Monitor and Control Isis Applications</description>
<description kind="short">Control Center</description>
<offline-allowed/>
</information>

<security>
<all-permissions/>
</security>

<resources> <jar href="logkit-1.2.jar"/>
<jar href="jacorb.jar"/>
<jar href="avalon-framework-4.1.5.jar"/>
</resources>

<j2se version="1.4"/>
<jar href="ControlCenter.jar"/>
<application-desc main-class="controlcenter.ControlCenter"/>
</jnlp>

There are mistakes in the jnlp code that you posted, and those may be causing your problems.

You have an extra < symbol before the href="ControlCenter.jnlp"

You need to move all of the <jar> and <j2se> tags inside the <resources> tag.

Make sure the jnlp file is actually available at the location you specified inside the file: in this case "http://isis131:8080/webstart/ControlCenter.jnlp".
