Is it possible to make the default "email notification" checkbox to ON?
I think in general, when most people start a thread they would like to know when someone has responded. I always mean to check that box, but invariable always forget, and there's no way to do it after the fact.

That option is not supported by UBB. It might be possible to hack without too much pain (doubtful but I haven't checked), however:

Dunno about most people - I personally would not want this at all on my account. I get enough e-mail as it is. I sort of assumed "most" other people would agree, but either one of us could be mistaken here. The ideal would be for people to be able to configure this option individually for their own account - but I'm sure that would be more trouble than it's worth in UBB. For that matter, people should be able to register for notification of updates even if the thread was started by someone else. Maybe we should take another look at Jive...
