I have been hearing about load balencing of app server and web server but couldnt know much about it. I have dont quite a bit of distributed computing but all ways limited to one app server...how is load balencing achived in web/app servers, how is performence tuning done..are there any tools available for it..pl update me...

You may get a better answer if you post this in specific app server forums( like weblogic, websphere).
I have not done any load balencing work, so I can not vouch about this stuff.
