is it possible to run different threads of execution of a java program
on different processors(ie i have different cpu's on a network)
this woulds really be

Yes, with the exception of a few JVM for PDAs, or older JVMs, most JVMs will use more than one CPU on a single machine.

As for different CPUs on a network -- that's a different story. You still have to start more than one JVM -- and code for the network -- for that.
