BEA Weblogic Portal 8.1
TeamSite 6.5 as the CMS

For all those that are using a CMS (TeamSite in our case) to manage Weblogic Portal content:

How do I allow business users to insert hyperlinks into content? Since portal hyperlinks are dynamic and are typically generated by the portal, any hyperlink inserted at the CMS level will require some kind of processing at the Portal level. I have discovered that any content retrieved from the Portal DB is not processed by the portal. So it is not possible to insert taglib code into hyperlinks at the CMS level because they will never be processed.

It seems like the only solution is to write some code that will pull content from the Portal DB and then replace any hyperlinks with an appropriate portal hyperlink. Does anyone have any other ideas that I can try?

Thanks,
Phil

We were told by BEA support that this was the only way. Since our content is in files in the content repository, this meant a readLine for every line of the file, doing a regex search for hyperlinks, and building the links with code, and training business users to include special codes for hyperlinks. Same with images and other binary content that might be used in the content. I couldn't believe it.
