Hi,

I am trying to get a basic piece of AJAX working in my struts portlet, however, I can't quite get it to work. I am having a problem with the callback() function - "object required" error. Any help much appreciated:

districtChart.jsp

WelcomeAction.java

I know the problem is with my Action file, however, how do I write to the response in order to do something like this:

response.setContentType("text/xml");
response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache");
String message = "You have entered an invalid date.";

if (passed) {
message = "You have entered a valid date.";
}
out.println("<response>");
out.println("<passed>" + Boolean.toString(passed) + "</passed>");
out.println("<message>" + message + "</message>");
out.println("</response>");

Thanks
