How are connectionless socket different than connection oriented socket?

Hi
Connection oriented sockets are like Tcp connections which makes sure that the data you have send to the client reaches the client . In case because of some reason it is not able to deiver the data it sents back a reply that the data could not be deliver .They are more secure but takes a lot of time .
Connectionless sockets are like UDP(Uniform Datagram Protocol) where the data is sent to the client and there is no surity that it will reach there .That is why they are much faster but are unsecured .
When ever the large chuck of data which is not that important is sent example images it is ent through UDP .
