while mailing through yahoo i use http or smtp

Hello,
i would like to know that when i mail through say yahoo i do not
use smtp .Where is it working & how because i work & see only http.In such case where does smtp fit .

Hotmail, Yahoo, any mail orginization has an application that takes your http submit, formats it into a smtp transaction and originates it from their own stmp server. Their stmp server only allows mail that originates from their servers.
