Hello all,
I am trying to write a java servlet that can take a request parameter from a user who is looking for a website. They would request something like "I would like to find the City of Bloomington's website." Or, "I am looking for John Doe's web site."
After the sentence is processed I would like to be able to check the internet for registered addresses and names, for example Bloomington, CityOfBloomington, CityBloomington, John Doe, etc. However, I'm not sure how to query the internet for that kind of info. Do I want to look at finger, DNS lookup or some other protocol to search? If so, is there something in java.net or similar already written that I could use.
I am new to networking and internet protocols and any leads or suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks, Richard
