about java application

i am havaing two applications
first one:-
I need a stand alone application(in java).It should
read the number of pages details viewed from the browser
how to do it?.Do i need to write a separate server,is
it possible?.and also i should capture the error message
like page cannot be displayed(or)Socket error etc.
depends on the user happens to browse the web site
please someone help with a source code

second one:-
(i) a frame must be open whenever ie(internet explorer)is opened
(ii) insert the sites visited in the explorer to the database
(iii) restrict some sites being visited
if it is possible in java means please send

your first requirment is to read a file
its just simple
it would be an application
no need to write separate server....
to show error messages u have to catch exceptions....

u have to intentiate another object to open new window for browser that also should take url from the link
then just save these url connections in either a text file or in DB using any database driver like jdbc-odbc driver.....
to ristrict the sites enter some urls in some txt file which should be checked before going to any page

I've a doubt. Should the user should browse through our customised frame or the standard browsers(IE or Netscape). If we design our own browser then every functionality should be implemented.so the project
becomes vast.On the other side, if the user browses through the Standard browsers(IE or Netscape) how to get those HTML files.How can we plugin our application to get those details.Is there any specific class for it.Please help me.
