ok i read this paragraph in the java docs of the Socket class
"The actual work of the socket is performed by an instance of the SocketImpl class. An application, by changing the socket factory that creates the socket implementation, can configure itself to create sockets appropriate to the local firewall."
with reference to the above does anyone have any idea how we may modify the application to run behind the firewall !!!

its possible but u have to study socks in java
try its documentation....

Hi!
Well as much as I know thru exp. The Java.net.socket doesnt work thru firewalls..
But I may be wrong coz I i m not sure if my s/w has been tested thru firewalls.

Hi mateen,
could u plz refer some good java site which has enough information regarding sockets in java ?
bcoz documentation is not enough to get through this firewall stuff
