I assume this is either at work or in a college lab?
If so...
There is a 99.999% chance you won't be able to do this. Most places that have pc's connected to the internet usually have what they call a "firewall" setup. It probably won't allow that sort of traffic through from outside the network. Also if you went home to your home PC and tried to "PING PC79", that wouldn't work either cause that host name is registered with interNIC and is really "external" to the internet.
You'd want to talk to the system admin.
