URLConnection question

I am having difficulty making this instance of URL work for me. Here is the line:
baseUrl = new URL("http://" + s + ":" + i + "/");

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can print out the value of the whole string ( including the values of s and i ) then we will know what URL finally comes out. Please post the exact problem.
