I'm trying to connect from a servlet running under WebSphere 3.5 Advanced to a https site. If I test to connect through a standalone client, running under WebSphere's JRE it throws a
java.net.NoRouteToHostException: No route to host

I haven't configured any https proxy so I think this could be solutionable. The real problem is that if the same code if copy-pasted to a servlet then another exception is thrown, different from the first one: java.net.MalformedURLException
Could anyone help me?
WebSphere's JRE is version 1.2.2 and I'm using JSSE 1.0.2

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
