making a socket connection via proxy  RSS feed

Hi I tried to open a socket connection in the following way

But i got the following exception

I am usuing a proxy server to connect to 203.195.197.140.Can u please tell me how to go for it .I know how to make a url connection via proxy server but in case of socket i m confused

Yikes. Do you have to use a char for the port number?
Anyway, your firewall is configured only to allow certain known traffic through to and from trusted machines. The proxy acts as a gateway for HTTP (and probably FTP) traffic through the firewall. It would appear that everything else is blocked. If so, there's no way around that other than bribing your systems administrator, that is

Do you have to authenticate with the proxy before going to a website? If so, you must pass your credentials (typically base64 encoded) to the proxy before it'll allow any kind of outgoing connections...if the port is blocked, just as Peter said; good luck bribing the admin
