I began to wonder about the inner workings of a servlet engine and came up with a question:
How does the server know that a HTTP request is part of a session?
I searched the HTTP 1.1 RFC with "session" and came up with 2 instances of the word...
I would like to know the magic (but I'm too lazy to browse thru Tomcat sources etc.)

Consider Paul's rocket mass heater.
