HTTP VS RMI-IIOP

I want to know whether RMI-IIOP is faster than HTTP.

hai,
rmi iiop are distibuted application protocols(middle ware protocols).
http is a session less protocol(just to serve html pages).
They are not from the same set. so they cannot be comparable. every one has their own pros and cons.
but you can compare rmi and iiop protocol

Is RMI-IIOP a binary protocol ?
I can use both HTTP and RMI-IIOP. There is firewall problem that I am facing. I want to know if RMI-IIOP is faster than HTTP because it is a binary protocol.
Your help will be highly appreciated.
