Hi,
I am facing a teasing problem, that is with my Server Application. When ever more then 700 clients(Applet) are connect with my Server Application( through socket) I find an error i.e. "java.net.SocketException: connection reset" And then the ServerSocket does't accept any other request to connect with it. But when the no. of connected user are below 600 the problem does't come.
If anybody have any idea to handle this problem plz let me know.
Thanks in advance.
Bye

Hi,
700 simultaneous connections? Most operating systems place some upper limit on how many open files, sockets, or combination of these a single process is allowed to have at once. On UNIX systems, the limit is usually a tunable kernel parameter -- see your sysadmin. On Windows, I don't know if the limits can be adjusted. In any event, 600 simultaneous connections is quite a lot; you might consider using multiple server processes, or even a farm of server machines, to handle this load.
