Hi
Can anybody tell me the different types of exceptions that may occur while
working with the sockets over TCP/IP network layer. For example- when a message is sent but not received by the destination.
Thanks

Welcome to the Ranch Mr. Vipin
A good place to start searching for them is The API documentation for IOExeption. Some of its subclasses are obvious candidates: SocketException, and UnknownHostException ; others, like InterruptedIOException are not so obvious.
