How do i connect to machine using a modem, without internet to access files in shared directory.

Please help or guide me to some setp-by-step article.

You may buy something like pcAnywhere, to dial-in on a computer.

But then you may not use the shared-folder technique, I guess.

How to do it with java?
Oh - I fear, no solution.

This is with refrence to my question on Javaranch, what i want is to copy a file from a remote machine & past it on my computer, does PcAnywhere allows to do this?

may be butillen board services work on this principal, but they have a call answering software, is there a free call answering software, how do i use it? to move file from remote location to my machine.

please help.


There is free software for linux (mgetty+sendfax) - but I don't have a step by step guide, and it's getting out of use, because the Internet provides so much services.

Why don't you like to use the internet?
Send the file per email-attachment.
