hi everyone
i have to develop a Java program to measure the available bandwidth,
is there any class in Java using which i can monitor the bandwidth
pls help me

I remember seeing an article a few years back in JDJ that did this by developing a custom InputStream class.

Can you be more specific? Do you need to measure how much bandwidth your connection has available? If this, you'll need to find a server that has more bandwidth than your connection, open a socket connection to it, and read data as fast as you can, measuring how much you read over time. If the server ever stalls out or can't keep up with your reads, you won't read the maximum available.

Or, do you have an existing data-feed that you'd like to measure the performance on? For example, you're downloading a file and want to see how fast it's coming down.
