problem in opening a port  RSS feed

hi all

I have indulged in a project ..
in this project
I have to check the input/output traffic of the given router .Although I able to send/receive data between to pc or more then two pcs.
I have created a TCPIP Server which in running on a given port as soon any user connect to server I can check the current traffic.
but I have to check it for router

can any body give me an idea please....

Since noone replied to your previous post I think you can surmise that there is no functionality in the Java API or the TCP/IP network protocol which specifically allows one to query a router. Your best bet is to dig into the router documentation and see what functionality is available THEN try to figure out how to exploit it. Maybe try contacting sandeep since he apparently has the same assignment.

You might want to consider looking at SNMP. There are many useful statistics in the standard SNMP MIB, there are a number of commercial and open-source tools that offer additional MIBS, and most network devices offer varying degrees of SNMP support.
