I am not sure if this is the correct topic for this question, so please feel free to move it to a more appropriate one if necessary.

What I am trying to do is to open a listener socket from inside a web container--Sun system application server pe 8.1 to be precise. I am able to open the socket, but when I try to connect to the socket from outside the app server using telnet, the socket throws an exception:

My code is, I think, pretty standard socket code:

All I want to be able to do right now is to connect to the socket and have the app (running inside the sun app server) record the connection. However, from the exception, it looks like I have to implement a Security Policy in order to accept the incoming connection. Would this be a correct assesment? If so, anyone know of any links on how to do this?

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
