uploading files without FTP  RSS feed

Hi,

Is it possibel to upload files from client's machine to server using sockets? Please give me some examples or links to tutorials.

You would have to have some kind of partner program on the server. Let's call it a server program, which means something that sits around and waits for clients to connect and start making requests. An FTP server is an example, but I guess you don't have one. If there is a Servlet engine running, you could write a servlet to accept file uploads and write them to disk. You could also write your own server and do the job with raw sockets.

Google for the Sun tutorial on sockets. It's a great introduction and probably builds most of what you want in some of the lessons.
