Hello All,
I'm working on a project where one of the "nice to have" features is to be able to scan the local network for all devices whose MAC address falls within some certain range.
It's an application to do diagnostics on a device these folks build, so they know the range of MAC addresses they use and they want to find all there devices that are present.
Anybody seen an example of how to do this??

TIA
Dave

You won't be able to do it in Java without native code; Java doesn't offer access to the network stack below the TCP or UDP level.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
