Hello all,

I am hereby looking to do remote FTP using Socks proxy.

The situation is:

I have 3 servers namely A, B and C.My program runs on C and it wants to do FTP from A to B on which JAVA is not running.

A, B, C are all Solaris servers.

Can anyone suggest me how SOCKS proxy can allow FTP between 2 remote servers.?

Any sample code would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Saurabh

Seeing as how Ulf already spent several days trying to unravel your requirements in this topic, maybe you should stick with that conversation. A SOCKS proxy would not get you anything other than not needing a direct IP link between servers A and B.

Joe,
The conversation between me and ulf was carried based on some pther ap[proach. Here i wanted to discuss the same using socks proxy.

Actually when i transfer a file from C to A by using socks proxy can, Socks which is running on A canm transfer this file directly to B by implementing some configuration settings.

Please let me know as the remote firl transfer is creating some problems for me for a while now and even then i have not got the solution as of now.

Thanks in advance,
Saurabh
