Hi,

In class Socket, I've notived a method "setKeepAlive" which, according to the documentation , "enables/disabled SO_KEEPALIVE".
Could any of you TCP experts please clarify what that means ?

I *am* aware of the purpose of "keep alive" in *http* headers.
But Socket.setKeepAlive seems to work on *low level TCP* , which is new to me... like, is it part of the actual TCP protocol ? And if so, why is a redundant http header for this ?

Any clues would be appreciated - thanks
