In my application, whenever the user registers he gets a mail for confirmation and also a link in that to unsubscribe if the user desires so.
The problem is-
The user is logged in and is viewing his/her account. Now from the mail he clicks on the unsuscribe link, instead of getting the unsubscribe page, he gets the same page which was already open. The new browser windoe is opened up but the scrren is same in both the windows.
I think this is related to sessions. Insted of creating a new session its using the larady existing session.

Please help....

Thanks

Ask this question in the HTML/Javascript area or the JSP area.

A good way to send unsubscribe messages is to send a unique id instead that is linked to the email. By doing this you can eliminate that a user can guess an emial and unsubscribe it.

Depending upon the unsubscription event, do the required business and invalidate the session, if you think it is a session issue. After that you can show the page which is required after this step.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
