Which java technology would be the best for a GUI to access a servlet? And how would i go about it?

RMI? Sockets? ...

Best regards.

You can use the network classes URL or HttpURLConnection at a fairly low level. I've used URL for HTTP GET and simple POSTs. My work app uses HttpURLConnection to call web services on partner systems. A level up would be something like the Apache HttpClient package. I have zero hands-on experience with it, but it is built for just your purpose and ought to be good.
