I have to use a URL object to a program. The URL is worked well in my browser(which is a RSS), but when I put it in the URL 's constructor. The JVM throw an error said the connection time out... Why? I haven't typo the URL!

cannot get clear understanding of your problem. May be you should display the url so that we can have a look. Also can try HttpURLConnection.

Perhaps you're behind a firewall, and your browser is configured to use a proxy.

Perhaps you can use http analyser sort of software to find out whats really happening in the browser, whether any redirection is taking place or not.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
