Hi, welcome to the ranch!

Years ago I made a Pascal program that made an external modem (2400 baud!) dial and then switch to voice mode. If you're using dial-up your phone is connected to your modem and you could probably try that. There used to be a javax.comm package ... don't know if it's still around or supported or what.

If you're not using dial-up and not using a modem then I don't know how your standard phone would be connected to the computer at all.

If you're on IP-Phone, you can probably get a SoftPhone kit from your provider.

Any of that sound right for you?

Thank you

Hi, you should be able to dial a modem with the comminications API. HERE is a Sun page on it. I think you'll need to read up on the AT Modem Commands. That page even talks about Using the Modem to Establish Voice Calls. Let us know how this works out!
