I am implementing a project that dictates that i must determin whether a website is from a particular conutry, managed by a company in the same location or hosted in a particular.
i know that one way of doing this implies that we parse the URL and see whetehr the company code is preent, But are there other ways?

javainetlocator is a free Java component that helps with this, or -if you have a budget- you can use a product like ip2location.

Hi,
Thank you for the great link. It works fine, but I am still curious to know how the whole process works. Well, I understand that the majority of websites do not include a country code in their URL, thus, there got to be another way to resolve this. I wonder whether WHOIS servers has something to do with that!?. On the other hand, althought I never heard of it before, but is it possible to indicte the site location through an HTML tag?
