Hi ,

Please provide inputs on the following problem.

We have to check on the regular basis that a web application(http) is running on the remote server is alive or down from a client side.

Use java.net.URL to request a resource from the web app.

I made something around URL that retrieves a specified page and checks some configurable combination of ...

* Response time <= max
* Required string is found in response
* Forbidden string is not found in response

The next bit is to schedule it to run regularly, and maybe run several of them on independent threads.

Some of my peers also used JMeter. (I think) It's a load test tool, but they configured the load to 1 hit every 15 minutes.
