A Problem in the connection between a client and a remote server

Hi all
I was tryin' to make a client that connects to a remote server,not local.Does this mean that in my client I have to use the Socket(Proxy p) constructor?if not what shall I use?
is there is an example or a useful link please attach it.

One would use the Socket(Proxy p) only if there were a proxy between the client and server.
The Java Tutorial Chapter on Custom Networking is a good starting place for learning networking.
