Bryan,
Please read the JavaRanch policy on user names at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp, and register a user identity with a complete (and separate) first and last name.
About your question, could you post the text of the exception?
Thanks,
Jerry

Siva,
It's hard to tell from just that info (I don't use VisiBroker anymore since getting into RMI) but at least we can see that the exception happens in main() in idl2java.java. Since it's the tool that's failing, it leads me to wonder if there isn't a configuration problem. ClassCastException happens when the type you're trying to cast to isn't really the type of the object you're casting, so check to make sure you're using the correct version of the Java runtime and its libraries for your version of VisiBroker.
If you can't find the problem, post the command line you're using, your IDL file (if it's not too long), the results of the %java -version command, and the version of VisiBroker you're using.
In the meantime, anybody out there currently using VisiBroker want to take a look at this?
Jerry
P.S. When you post back, please do it under a new account. Thanks.
