After getting the remote object reference, when client call a method then how communication takes place between client and server is it via rmiregistry or dir communication between server and client. if it is direct then server has to be listen in a port . if there r n no of server then what will be the situation.
how client will know the port to connect to the server.
Give the in details how communication takes place.
Thanks in advanced

Sudipta,
Since a complete answer would be a rather long post (in which I'd probably make mistakes), I'll just direct you to the RMI spec for all the details on how RMI communication works.
As for the registry vs. direct communication - once a client has obtained a remote object reference from the registry, further comms between client and server are direct and do not involve the registry.
Jerry
