Hi!
in my project i need to connect to the legacy systems that were developed in c++,i have the current data in java which has to be connected to the legacy systems for some verifications.i have use corba to connect to leagacy systems must i have to write only idls for both c++ and java or must i to do ??.i am using visgenic.and also where can i download the idls.

u'll use CORBA if u r using distributed systems & want to communicate between programs on different machines connected through network & with different programs written in different languages .
but for programs running on same machine u have to use JNI .....

Hi!
i need to connect to the other network in which the data is available(developed in c++) and which in turn connects to the oracle to retrive the data.hope i am making myself clear.. i need corba to connect to c++ and convert the data into Java.

HI,
I think u can create the idl file which uses function prototypes that will call the C++ API's which access oracle data. After creating the idl. It can be converted to java with idltojava.exe compile.
Hope it gives some idea.
