I have an RMI server program that I run after starting rmiregistry. I have a client program that send requests to the server. Everything works as expected, but in my client Window, at the bottom I see a line which says something like Java Applet Window. I have a policy file at the client side and the server side, and I run the client program using the command:
java -Djava.security.policy=policy.dat Client
Is it normal to get the Java Applet Window message? If it is not, what can I do to get rid of that warning message?

It is quite normal to get a warning saying that the window open is an applet. I don't think you can get rid of that message though I could be wrong.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
