Hi all,
I have just started Corba programming and am stuck in the first step.. while
compiling idl file of a sample application using visibroker.
Following is the code if idl file
module Bank {
interface Account {
float balance();
};
interface AccountManager {
Account open(in string name);
};
};
I am getting the following error when I compile the idl file using - idl2java
bank.idl
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.omg.CORBA.portable.ObjectImpl: method
_boa()Lorg/omg/CORBA/BOA; not found
at com.visigenic.vbroker.tools.ir.Factory.create_transient_repository(Factory.java:19)
at com.visigenic.vbroker.tools.idl2java.main(idl2java.java, Compiled Code)
I am using visibroker ver 3.3 and jdk ver 1.2.2
I set the classpath and "orb.properties" file in <java-home>/jre/lib folder
Do I need to do any further configuration to use visbroker?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Lenin

Hi Lenin -
Hopefully we've got someone here who knows enough CORBA to answer this question. I'm only just coming up on the CORBA approach myself, so I can't be more helpful right now.
Would you please take a look at our naming policy and change your name accordingly? We ask that all registered users create a login indentity using their first and last name, in order to maintain a professional appearance.
Part of JavaRanch's goal is to maintain a look and feel that corporate employers would find attractive, and thus be willing to allow through their firewalls. Your cooperation helps us out quite a bit.

Michael

I guess you would not have set your class path referring to vbjorb.jar, vbjtools.jar and vbjapp.jar files.
