I would like to suggest being able to select more matches or do a new search when I reach the bottom of a page instead of having to scroll back up to the top..
Regards, Michael

Feel free to make your suggestions to the Infopop folks that own and license the UBB software that this forum uses.

Hi Cindy,
Is that true of the result set a search returns too. I see a search returns the oldest post first. Generally I would like to see the newest post first. Invariably I walk to the end and work backwards. IMO this unnecessarily loads the JR with more requests than the JR needs to serve.
I sometimes visit another infopop place and it is waaay different than heeer. They seem like they are using more features. The JR is using a supported version of infopop and plans on continuing that practice. I'm not just bothering infopop and even if they implement my suggest it won't make it to where the certified play???
TIA

I searched for 'jar' in the intermediate forum and would prefer the most recent posts first.
I remember an good answer to which I wanted to set a link to, and it was one, two or three months ago.
So I suggest:
  • newest results first
  • allow more options in date: it is limited to '30 days' or no 'limit'. For few results I would like long ranges.
  • display the number of answers - you might remember it was a long thread, or a small one

  • I searched for 'search' too, and found problems with the order of forums. They seem to be solved, and look ordered to me.
I recognized that there is no possibility to search beyond forums-borders, because of performance. It's a pity.
And that is a fact to for 'Subject'-Search, or only to 'fulltext'-search?
Some topics are bad searchable that way, i.e. 'jar' could be in the 3 java-core Forums and in Build-Tools.

You could try the Google search from the JavaRanch main page until we get our new software up and running.
