Hi All,
I have a requirement wherein Java code has to instaintiate and work with prewritten COM objects. I have no idea as to how to accomplish this. There is a Microsoft Product named J/DIRECT to achieve this but unlike Java it does not seem to be freeware :-) So is there any workaround that can be done to accomplish the above. Any sites which can help to know about this or any tips would be highly helpful and appreciated.
Thanks,

Just a few days ago I ran across a product called Jawin. You can read more about it here. Seems to be just what you're looking for.

Also do go thru the JNI Specification....they do talk something abt COM there ...if you can have JNI wrappers around COM interfaces then ....but since they are predefined ..well do give go thru inside COM from MicroSoft( though its GRand Old)
