Hi, Pradeep
Welcome to JavaRanch !!!
Does this test engine cover CORBA Java?
Is there any real Corba certification test?
Thanks.

Dear Doug,
Thanks for your query!!!
Yes, CORBA@Whiz covers CORBA java with also an example with C++.
As of now there is no certification for CORBA.
Regards
Pradeep

Thanks, Pradeep.
So CORBA@Whiz should be a good tutorial for quickest learning Corba. I find learning by questions is the quickest approach.
My another question:
Do you think it is real for creating a CORBA Applet? I experienced CORBA Applet nightmare once. Deployment consideration, signed applet, browser capability, so much thing to bother you.

Dear Doug,
Frankly telling you, CORBA@Whiz doesn't cover advanced topics like ORBlets etc.
I will try to find out some crispy and concise material on this topic.
Regards
Pradeep

Dear Pradeep,
You are kind.
OMG is likely going in a new direction to distributed computing - Model Driven Architecture(MDA). How do you compare MDA with CORBA?
Thanks.

Dear Doug,
Even though i have not fully engaged into this new topic, but i find it interesting.
As also said my OMG, MDA is not the new direction. But using UML architecture for PIM with support for latest tech's like "web services" it offers a sound value proposition.
But still there is time before its fully standardised.
I hope you have gone through the FAQ page at OMG:
http://www.omg.com/mda/faq_mda.htm#what is mda
Hope this helps a bit
Regards and best wishes
Pradeep

Do read the http://www.javaranch.com/bookpromo.jsp when you get a chance. Saying "I want to be in the drawing" won't qualify. You have to try and say something that can't be reduced to: "Hey! Free book over here! Serve it up!"

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
