Hi Im trying to compile and run a remote interface but I keep getting the error:
In class TimeServer: void main(String argv[]) is not defined
whenever I try to run it, below is my code.
import java.rmi.*;
import java.util.*;

public interface TimeServer extends Remote{

Date getCurrentDate() throws RemoteException;
}

forgive this newbie's ignorance. It seems like I am supposed to use "rmic" and not the typical "java" to run this.

Hi,
It seems that you are trying to run some examples without learning RMI or even java.You should spend some more time learning java basics.

Ronnie -- you're in luck. It just so happens we're running an RMI tutorial as a topic right here. You're more than welcome to join us: read through, follow the example, and by the time you're caught up we won't have gone much further than we are now.
I avoided commenting on this topic before just because I wasn't quite sure to start with you. Then it occurred to me: you need a tutorial, and we happen to have that on hand.
I'll hope you'll join us.
