I have trouble starting up rmid. For some reason, my error says that my ip address is a non-local host, but it is my ip address! I'm running Linux (Slackware 8.0). I have things running on my windows laptop, but my linux desktop doesn't want to work. Any suggestions?
Here is my error code:

the command line is: rmid -J-Dsun.rmi.activation.execPolicy=none -J-Djava.security.policy=/CJ/java/jini1_1/policy/policy.all
Sat Nov 23 15:30:12 EST 2002:ExecGroup-0:err:Exception in starting ActivationGroupInit:

Thanks,
